House Training Your Dog

Do you often ask yourself: “How to House Train my Puppy?” You should realize that your puppy is not born knowing the good manners for behavior in house.

Obviously, relieving himself on the carpet is not a desirable option. Hence, he will need to be taught to wait until you go outside where it is okay for him to do his business.

Every puppy gets house trained, so you can imagine that there are many different ways to go about it. And with a little patience you should see successes quite fast. And punishing your dog should not be necessary at all.

If you pay close attention to your puppy the first few days, you will find that he will give you signs before he needs to do his business. If you see one, pick him up and take him outside.

Also take him outside often during the day. He is likely to need to use the bathroom after meals, after playing session, and shortly after he wakes up. If you can, take him outside very often.

You should get a nice and comfortable crate for your puppy. Your puppy can sleep in that crate and you will see that dogs don’t like to soil the area where they sleep. That is just how dogs are genetically designed.

Another option would be buying a litter box. Your dog could relief himself here at night, rather than you having to take him outside, which can really be quite frustrating.

Your puppy will rather relieve in a litter box than in his crate. This is a much better solution for you than to take your puppy out late at night.

But no matter what you choose to do, when you get up in the morning, take your dog outside. And when he reliefs himself there, make sure to reward him for the success. If you give your puppy many opportunities to do his business in an appropriate location, and if you just hang in there patiently, you and your dog will succeed.
